Gedicht

havent check my mail for ages..

and i received a surprise letter from a good old friend. Cant believe it~ he actually spend time and translate his poem to english for me. hoho!

thanks a lot to him~
wish i can understand German soon in future. After i mastered my jap, that is. haha!
think will have to wait for a long time before that day really come.

"Gedicht" means poem. and he uses ancient roman numbers to number them. The poem was about his personal misbehaviour during a relationship! hohoho! how exciting~~~~
this can be one of the good motivations for me to learn german, to 八卦 about other's life~
hehe! such a busybody huh? =p

here are the poems by this talented poet~ : ^_^
(borrowing and putting it up here first, hope he doesnt mind, hey, it is a crime not to share good poems!! and i will wait till that day when i can understand and fully appreciate it...)

Gedicht III

Imma

Jung:
Ihn vom guten Vorsatz abzufuehren.

Was habe ich gemacht?
Was habe ich gedacht?
Beinah waer’s gescheh’n

Jung:
Was tut ein verliebtes Herz
nicht alles in seinem Schmerz.
(Traurig lachend.)
Durchs fremde Fenster seh’n
In ihrer Schoenheit sich ergeh’n;
Unrecht macht’ ich mir zu Recht.
Bin aber deshalb nicht gleich schlecht.
Habe versucht, ohne ihr zu schaden,
ohne dass sie es erfaehrt,
in ihren Bildern mich gesund zu baden.
Es war nicht verkehrt!
(Eine kurze Pause.)
Wie die Haare um Deine Schultern fallen,
Moecht’ auch ich Dich innigst so umwallen.
Ach, fuelle doch dies Loch in mir,
Wie dann auch ich
Fuer Dich,
In Dir.
(Zum Mond aufblickend.)
Es ist schon tiefe Nacht
Und heute werd’ ich hier nichts mehr.
Bin ganz geschafft

Imma:
Ach mein Dummerchen,
Haett’st Du was gefragt,
Konnten beide nichts sagen
Es immer nur im Stillen tragen.
Nacht fuer Nacht,

heimlich sei’st Du mir schon lange sehr adrett.

Was lauf ich fort?
Hatt’ ich doch Dich.
Will immer nur nach dort,
Denke immer nur an mich.
Du gabst mir viel,
doch zu viel nahm ich.
Durch mich, Deine Welt zerfiel,
bin durch und durch verderblich.
Gedenke gern den rauschenden Zeiten,
wir flogen die Hoeh’n herauf
und golden sahen wir die Weiten,
schauten der Welt raetselhaften Lauf.
Still und ernst ist dieser Abend.
Ich verneige mich mit laechelndem Gesicht,
Stehe vor Dir in gluecklichem Licht,
Mich selbst nicht ahnend.
Abschied von gluecklicher Zeit,
Ueberbringe ich.
Zitternd gehe ich so weit,
Verfluche mich.
Die mich einst verliess, komme zurueck,
Ich hoffe es.
Sie bringe heim mein Glueck,
Ich wuensche es.
Wie die Botschaft ausgesprochen,
erschleicht mich ein widerwaertiges Gefuehl:
Die Wahrheit hat errochen,
Den Geist, dem ich damals noch verfiel.
Deine Traenen quellen,
Mein Laecheln staehlern steht.
Dich zu verprellen,
Mein Herz vergeht.
So nimmt statt Glueck Unglueck seinen Lauf.
Irre strauchelnd nun durch oedes Heidekraut,
Traeume naiv von meiner ersten Braut.
Unheilvoll zieht die Nacht heran,
ganz leise und geduckt.
Ach!
vorbei waer all der plagend Geister Haeme!
Am Morgen erinnert nichts daran,
Bin von Finsternis verschluckt.

impromptu dinner

dont dare to sleep

once a friend recommended me a Thai horror movie, Shutter.
It was abt taken photos which had supernatual beings.
it is really scary... dont dare to sleep now, after watching it... =(
i watched many many ghost movies. ju-on, wishing stairs, the ring, sixth sense, and many others, and i am not affected after watching. But this one is this really terrifying, cos the things acted in the movie are so common in daily life.

i always have this problem of stiff shoulder and neck... and now, feeling kind of eerie.. >.<

I do believe there are such spooky spirits photos exist, as i remembered there are many tv shows in taiwan, asking pple to send in their photos and video of unnatual things. And there will be a psyche to decipher the message the spirit want to convey.

i praying hard i will never get to take such photos or videos in my life.

wish someone can accompany me tonight.
my snoopy doll is no use, although i hug it tight. =(

a trap?

Spectacles

Managed to contact my another good friend in time, before i fly back to Singapore.
Everyone is busy with work and studies. It is so difficult to arrange a time to meet up now.

We have not met for 4 years already~ since 2001 winter!
She didnt change much, still as pretty and fair from my memory
so excited to see old friends~ ^0^

We went to a jap restaurant, 麻布茶房, for dinner.
Simply love the ice cream there~ it tastes much better than swensons
and the rice is special too. i ordered cheese beef set meal + plum rice梅子饭, a mixture of sweet and sour taste, and i finish the whole set meal! to the last grain of rice~

after that, we then walk to 新掘江 (Xin Jue Jiang) to shop a bit.

We bought sunglasses from this shop

(we tried to act cool here, but obviously failed, hoho! look quite awkward, especially me~ =p )

back to normal us~

(is raining still, some of the shops are closed, very few pple shopping too, otherwise, the streets should be a scene of bustle and excitement)

my old specs (5 yrs) was spoilt already, bought 2 new ones from another optical shop.

(purposely choose a thick rectangle frame for a stern teacher image, it will match perfectly with a cane in hand) Wahahahahaha~!!!

after shopping, we stroll to the famous night walkway, 城市光廊, for coffee break.
but it had been raining for days, and today is raining too. the cafe was not opened.
the lighting was nice and colourful though
this was my 2nd time there after many years.
we tried to take a few pic there... but it all turned out blur and ghostly... *_*

this is the best one already

10 CDs at one go

went out with mom today

we went to 汉神 (han shin), and i bought many CDs there!
i was drawn into the music shop by the beautiful vioce of Russell Watson.

the sales manager is very knowlegeable. he recommend me some other very nice CD.
really love it. In the end, i spent around $300 (6000NT) on 10 CDs.

Russell Watson (Amore Musica)
Il Divo (Il Divo)
Best Voices "Audiophile" I, II, III
Best Voices "Bossa"
Gotan Project (la revancha del tango)
Susan Wong (I wish you l0ve), (These foolish things)
Always Forever (Mix)

phew, this is the first time i spend so much money buying cds at one shot.. ^_^!!
although expensive, i think they are worth it. some of them are imported ones too.

and i can spend my many days enjoying these wonderful music. hoho!

and today, i get to know that singapore has a much talented female singer, totally different from stephanie sun (whom i still dont know the reason why she can be so popular), she is Susan Wong, jazz singer. I like her vioce; unique and attractive.

so many coincidence --- creepy

Have a history teacher explain this----- if they can?

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford..'
Kennedy was shot in a car called 'Lincoln' made by 'Ford.'

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Creepy huh? But I think this is one history lesson people don't mind knowing. =p

A cute story (Not Everyone Sees & Hear the same thing)

The day finally arrived;
Forrest Gump dies and goes to Heaven.
He is at the Pearly Gates,
met by St. Peter himself.

However, the gates are closed
and Forrest approaches the Gatekeeper.
St . Peter says,
"Well, Forrest, it's certainly good to see you.
We have heard a lot about you.
I must tell you, though, that the place is filling up fast,
and we've been administering an entrance exam for everyone.
The test is short, but you have to pass it before you can get into Heaven."

Forrest responds, "It shor is good to be here, St. Peter, sir.
But nobody ever tolt me about any entrance exam.
Shor hope the test ain't too hard; life was a big enough test as it was".

St. Peter goes on, "Yes, I know, Forrest, but the test is only three questions.

First: What two days of the week begin with the letter T?
Second: How many seconds are there in a year?
Third: What is God's first name?"

Forrest leaves to think the questions over.
He returns the next day
St. Peter who waves him up and says,"Now that you have had a chance to think the questions over, tell me your answers."
Forrest says, "Well, the first one --which two days in the weekbegin with the letter "T"?
Shucks, that one's easy. That'd be Today and tomorrow.

The Saint's eyes open wide and he exclaims,"Forrest, that's not what I was thinking,
but you do have a point, and I guessI didn't specify, so I'll give you credit for that answer.
How about the next one?" asks St. Peter ."How many seconds in a year?""

Now that one's harder," says Forrest,"but I thunk and thunk about that andI guess the only answer can be twelve."Astounded, St. Peter says,"Twelve? Twelve!? Forrest, how in Heaven's name could you come up with twelve seconds in a year?"

Forrest says "Shucks, there's gotta be twelve: January 2nd, February 2nd , March 2nd . . ""Hold it, " interrupts St. Peter."I see where you're going with this, and I see your point, though that wasn't quite what I had in mind.....but I'll have to give you credit for that one, too.
Let's go on with the third and final question.
Can you tell me God's first name"?

"Sure" Forrest replied,"its Andy."
"Andy?!"exclaimed an exasperated and frustrated St. Peter.
"Ok, I can understand how you came up with your answers to my first two questions, but just how in the world did you come upwith the name Andy as the first name of God?"

"Shucks, that was the easiest one of all,"Forrest replied.
"I learnt it from the song. .

"ANDY WALKS WITH ME,
ANDY TALKS WITH ME,
ANDY TELLS ME I AM HIS OWN. "

St. Peter opened the Pearly Gates and said:"Run Forrest, run."

A friend fwd me this passage. not bad.

Le papillon's thoughts:

it is a cruel but true fact.

After all, the women are more independent these days. Most women have their own jobs and can even perform better than men in many aspects of work. We dont actually have to depend on men. Why get ourselves trapped in the the marriage tomb if the married life is not going to be better than being single?

that is a slow suicidal act...

i support the fiancee's decision; better to back out before it is too late.

Toffee Club

hoho! went out with one of my taiwan's best friend tonight!
we havent seen each other for 3 years already! time really flies!

she is getting prettier through the years, and she has a new boyfriend now.
hehe! happy for her. and i think the current bf is much better than the last one i saw 4 years ago. they are very suitable for each other, and i am really happy for her. ^_^

haha! and i already booked to be her bride maid if they get married. =p

she brought her 6 months old puppy to show me. it is very cute, eats alot, and cant stay still. its name is "小红豆" meaning "little red bean". cute name huh?

beacuse of little red bean, we went to a unique restaurant, Toffee Club, for dinner at 民生路 tonight. it allows pple to bring in their pets. it is a combined restaurant for human and pets. hehe! equality to all~
and the food is very tasty there! the price is reasonable as well.

there were quite a few pple there tonight. each bringing their own dogs. the settings is very comfortable and relaxing too. dogs are free to walk abt in the restaurant, socializing with other dogs there. in the meanwhile, pple can just laze and sit there, relax, chit chat with friends, read magazines, order some food and etc.
oh yeah, the pets have their special menu also!

interesting place~ i never know kaoshiung has such restaurant ^_^

mom was the first one who discover it. and i was thrilled upon seeing it; cos it was big in size. It was about the size of a palm! and i can even see its hair clearly too!

it dodge and run here and there, so difficult to capture it with camera through the view finder.

and in a mess, i stepped on it accidently

then it bye bye liao...
it shrunk (to the size of 3/5 of palm), and curled up its legs neatly.

i can only take a photo of its yi2 zhao4 ^_^!!

Stroll at riverside

the love river is very beautiful and lively recently.
cos the 端午节 festival is coming
The 龙舟赛 (boat rowing competition) is coming in just a few days, and along the sides of the river, pple are setting up their stalls already, selling food, drinks, games, gifts and etc!

a few years ago, the water was still very dirty and polluted. There was even one time that a foreign competition team refused to row the boat in the river, cos the river was too smelly.

but now the situation is much better!
there is no strange smell anymore, and lesser rubbish floating on the water surface.
if possible, i dont mind to take part in the rowing competition too~
hoho! that will be quite an experience!
(hmm, i wanna be the one who beat the drum on the boat =p)

~~day dreaming~~ ^_^

this pic is taken less than 20cm away

an afternoon in the garden

Spend my whole afternoon chasing after butterflies, bugs, ants, and insects in the garden.

never realize that it is so difficult to take a pic of butterfly
it always flys away even before i can get close to it...
i got a bit frustrated in the end, as there are many times where the focus, background and postition of the subject were perfect, then it just flew away.... Argh!

hehe! i bet it must also feel irritated too, and think that i am a nuisance~ cos i am not only disturbing its lunch, but also always charging aggressively at it with a camera =p

towards the evening, i decide that i will wait, focus on a spot, and hope that the butterfly can just fly into my photo taking range.

i waited... and waited..... and waited..........
in the end, i got 2 mosquito bites on my face... =(

but at least, i got a few good shots in return

"window shopping" down town

Hang around with mom and godbro in town today.
today is a rest day for me, therefore, dont wanna waste it at home.

we plan to window shop at first...

yeah, at first.... ^_^

but well, when we reached there, the most attractive 4 letter words are every where~~~

"SALE" ~ "SALE" ~ "SALE" ~ "SALE" ~ "SALE"~

hoho!!!

and poor godbro, haha! he turned into our carrier-man... =p

as we walk down the street, i was approached by model agents, again...

there are abundance of pretty and tall girls out there, why choose me? a shorty.. haha! think they just wanna cheat me into signing up for their training courses ba... luckily mom was there to reject them for me~ =)

anyway, i bought a green cowboy straw hat from mango, a skirt, and 2 tops.
mom bought a pair of shoes from pretty fit, and 2 shawl.
3 lipstick from shu uemura
we choose 2 nice tops for godbro too. ^_^

although we spend quite an amount, i still feel happy with our "trophies" today~ hoho!

i will wear my new hat back to taiwan!

CHIJ Family Carnival

Woops! Haha! I am really blur
The carnival is on 28th!
I mistaken 28th as Sunday, some of my friends said that they are coming over on Sunday..
Haiz… Too bad... now they cant make it.. most of them got to work on sat..
And I got to postpone Saturday’s shopping activity with Rachel too. =(

But the day goes well for me still. My god-bro comes over. He is the only one who can make it in the end. At least I got a good camera man to take photos for me haha!

The day is soooooo hot! I can feel my sweat tickling down my back!
And my jeans is sticking to my skin due to sweating… feels heavy and tight.
Argh… I am melting!!!! And the umbrella cant really provide much shade, but at least it is better than none.

It was compulsory for teachers to buy at least $100 of coupons. Hence, i tried very hard to use up all the coupons. i treat my student and parent helpers food, tibits, and drinks. then went to play at the game stall with god-bro.
hehe! and i earn 19 game tokens. Used 16 tokens and exchange for a green monkey..
hmm, what else?... oh yeah, towards the end of the day, i even give the coupons to my student, and tell them to spend it for me. Then i spend the rest of the money on buying many balloons, $2 each. Then i give away my balloons to students whoever pass by for freeeeeeee

to be able to bring joy to others is such an enjoyment ^.^

Such a hot day! But it is perfect for photo taking! Most of the photos are clear and colourful! Except a few that are really “shaken”

Hoho! Cant wait to send my photos for my friends and dear grandparents and dad to see~

Such a wonderful day~

Such a wonderful day!~~

Endless Work

HOD told me that there will be a group of master teachers from china coming to visit our school next thursday.... and they will observe our lessons too... the whole group of them, along with a deputy from Ministory of Education will be sitting at the back of the class, and will stay throughout the whole lesson!!! faint~~

Gee!! why at this point of time???

there are so many things to do already.... we have to pack up our things to get ready to move into new school premise, and have to key in students' marks into the school cockpit, and the school carnival is coming up next week too!! We have to set up the stores to sell things, and also to attend extra courses!!!

so many things already, yet the principal still wanna invite them....
heard that the some schools had turn them down...
why our principal is not as kind and sympathetic to teachers....

she think that we havent work enough is it? =(

shivering in fear... cant believe this unwelcoming news
they going to observe me:
= lesson plan + power point + designing and making of teaching materials
= endless work
= no rest during weekends
= comment and feedback from principal and visitors

i can imagine the situation for next thursday already...

(should be like this)

sigh.....

how i wish i can.......

hohoho!!

haiya! know that this is not possible...

but it still make me feel better just to imagine that~ =p

i will not waste my food again

saw this email that my friend fwd to me....
this pic really shocked me...
and i suddenly realized how fortunate we are
and how discontented and greedy i am to always wanting for more luxurious material enjoyment and superficial reputation and lifestyle..
i will not waste or complain about my food again...
let's say a prayer for the suffering in anywhere anyplace around the globe...

kevin Carter was the photographer who took this picture.

This was found in his diary:
Dear God, I promise I will never waste my food no matter how bad it can taste and how full I may be. I pray that He will protect this little boy, guide and deliver him away from his misery. I pray that we will be more sensitive towards the world around us and not be blinded by our own selfish nature and interests. I hope this picture will always serve as a reminder to us that how fortunate we are and that we must never ever take things for granted.

Red

Saw a MTV last night, "Susan Said" by David Tao.
and i like the costume and the feeling projected by the mtv..
it is like telling a story, little by little, piece by piece

I like the reddish maroon that the story character wears. the colour contrust is bold and striking. give me a deep impression..

then i had this strange dream last night. i dream i was an assassin of ancient china.
"赤(Red)" is my name, carrying a long curve blade (弯月刀) , and lead an force of elite assassins.

tried drawing it out..
hmm, this is so far the best one after a few attempt.
how many marks will you give out of 10? =p

Friday 13th

Hoho!

Oversea Call from a friend

received a surprise oversea call from a taiwanese friend.

it is really a surprise, never expect such a call before

but haha! it feels kinda good to get such oversea call from friend other than family.

he was surprised that i never call up my taiwanese friends b4... come to think of it...
yeah hor... my 2 best frineds in taiwan, i never call them up. only contact them when i went back.
Maybe i shall give them a call someday! haha! i can imagine the stunned look on their face! hoho!

Aching body, Contented heart

Aching all over now….
Arm pain, leg pain, even buttock also pain..
Long time never exercise le, hoho! body getting rusty.

Yesterday was still feeling ok..
Today is becoming worse. And I am a few shades darker le…. Arrrrgh!

However, it was fun despite all this. There were 11 of us playing paintball.
We each were given a gun (never hold a gun b4, that is the first time, and it was heavy… -_- ), wear a vest, and put on the mask to protect the face. And we each were given 2 magazine too. After dividing ourselves into 2 groups, the “warfare” begins!

I was very clumsy, and was shot many many times.
Those pple who got shot, will have to hold their gun high up in the surrender position, and run all the way back to the home base to “resurrect” again.
Haha! And I think I spent most of the time doing that… running to and fro, in and out of home base, guess that’s why my arms are more painful then my legs now. =p

And the paint ball should be called “pain ball”~ cos it was kinda painful when we get shot if we didn't wear any protective clothings.
Once, I was too engrossed in the war to realize that my arm "ate" a bullet. Till there is a hot and needle like feeling on my arm, then I realized I got a bad bruise, and slight bleeding. I think the bullet just brush past my arm’s skin, cant imagine what if it was a solid, full impact shot… @o@
Luckily, some other hit parts only suffer from slight bruise, thanks to my old clothes.

My friends too, most of them suffer a bruise here and there. But miraclly, 2 of my friends didn't have any blue-black at all. And they are wearing sleeveless and shorts….

Hoho! Next time, if I going to play again, I will surely wear long sleeves and long pants.
Erm, but on the second thought, I think I will faint from the heat if I wear like that…

They are quite nice pple. Though we don't really know each other very well, but i still enjoy the day very much~

errr..... Looking at my bruise now…, it is getting more disgusting..
Yesterday was only red in colour, now there is a mixture of red, black, purple, brown and green.

Hope it will disappear soon.

Busy week

Another week almost pass..
It has been a busy week for me. Full of exciting activities.

Went to the PAP women’s party lounge with Maple on tue night. Or should said that she dragged me there? =p
I don't even know much politics at all, especially Singapore politics…
Was kind of worried, donno whether I can join in the conversation, or answer the political questions..
But it turned out not as boring as I thought. Though there are still pple who ask me to comment on the Taiwan Singapore relationship, and the LP incident… -_-!!
The fun part was when we were sabotaged by the host to start the dance in front of the stage. The music was on, and the lighting was right, just that nobody is moving. Everyone just stood there like statues. It was fun to see more pple joining in, and the atmosphere was pretty high~
We also met a cute guy there, Kelvin. Hmm, another Kelvin~ =p
Think Maple and him can be an item, they quite suit each other~ haha!

Wed
Was suppose to meet a friend after school... but was too tired, and have to catch up with my markings… so fly him airplane le…. =p
Gomenasai~

Thurs
Always wish to fake sick, and get mc, and rest at home for a day… but never actually proceed on with my slacking plot.
the thoughts hit on me again on wed night… to make this thur my personal rest day. Hoho!
But when I wake up in the morning, I really didn't feel well le. Headache with abdomen pain…. Sigh… and I really went to see the doc with my real sickness.. =(
The doc give me some painkillers, and I revived again when the pills start having effect~ haha!

Went to see the “Lord of the Dance” at kallang theater at night. It was a great performance! Can even feel the floor shaking~
There is a part when the dancers ask us to clap at a certain tempo, and they started tapping to the beat! Just the clapping of the hands, and the sound of feet tapping on the floor~ such a incredible interaction~
me wanna learn tap dance!!

I am going to play paintball with a group of friends later. Never tried such a game before~ hehe! Cant wait for the time to pass..
Suddenly, I feel the clock tick on so slowly…
2am now, better force myself to get some sleep =)

Cute Mongolia Song ~FAMILY~

Hehe!!
《Father And Mother I Love You = FAMILY》
http://www.cnflash.net/zp_page/listzp2938.html

waiting

No one knows when the tide went out,
leaving behind a boat without oars.
Which hears neither roar of waves,
nor cries of windstorm.
Quietly stranded on the shore,
alone and desolate.
Obstinately it waits,
waits for the tide to turn.
It can only drift:
It is, after all, but a boat

Exam Paper Fever

Finally! It’s Friday!

Really need a rest…

one of my fav

At Yishun Park

Photography

Picking Litter and Feeding Mosquitoes

Brought my girls to zhenghua park to pick litters, for community work.

this is the first time me bringing students out of school~

weather was so hot over there, the sun was really merciless, and there was not a single shade at all
Even i was sweating profusely, not to mention abt the students le

luckily i told the girls to bring along their umbrellas, caps, and water bottles
but seems like i am the only one using the umbrella in the end

they were so energetic, sprinting and running all around the park
wonder where they get all such engergy from?
(or am i being old?? ^_^!! )
and poor me, as i am the only teacher over there, have to chase after them, taking photos for school magazine, making sure they dont do anything funny, and to concentrate on picking the litters

hehe! feeling exactly like a nanny

but it was fun~~
we even discovered a rabina plant, and plucked the fruits with the students!
haha! we were lucky not to be caught by the owner
we took lots of photos as well!!
(we all end up playing in the end, forgot all abt the community work we first set out to do le... =p)

students starting to pester me to see the photos
think i will create an online album for them to view and download ba

say "5 Joy"!!!!! ^o^

Khia Soo emails Mum

Modern technology has made it possible for latchkey children to communicate with parents who are still at work when they go home.

For those like Khia Soo, who hardly see their parents, they can always send an email.......

Dear Mummy,

I am feeling very sad.

Today in school, Zhong Guoren - my classmate from China - beat me again, in a Maths test. That boy is an unstoppable genius machine.

Last week, he beat me in sports too.

If he were not here, I would have come in first and gotten a gold.
But because the Government says we must welcome foreign talents to increaseour population and to improve our economy, I got a bronze instead.

This sucks.

At first, we laughed at them, because their English was not very good. Theirmaths and science were good, and their Chinese was excellent (but who caresabout Chinese language, right?).
But then, their Englishgot better and now, they are kicking our backsides in this subject too.

I think we should get the Government to do something about this.

Why didn't you have more babies, Mummy? I wouldn't mind having a brother ora sister to play with. I am an only child, and because you and Daddy are notmaking enough babies, we have to get people from other countries, people who make it hard for me to be number one in my class.

I think you are very selfish to just have me, Mummy.

I don't like to lose, Mummy. I am used to being first in my class. And my school was very small too, like Singapore, so it was easy to be first. Now my school is bigger, and I have to fight harder to be first.

Why can't we just compete with ourselves, among Singaporeans only (okay, and maybe Permanent Residents)?

Why can't they have a new category for all the tests and CCAs? We could have a Best Local Maths Student category and a Best Local Sportsman category, then at least, if I don't win Best Maths Student, I can be Best Local Maths Student and feel better about myself.

Just like my school is ranked one of the Top 20 Value-added Secondary Schools with a Special Assessment Award for Knitting CCA, I also want to be a top student.

Maybe we need to have a new category like "Top 20 Value-addedSecondary Schools (Got China Students)".

This is because our school has smart foreign students and should be rankedseparately so that schools without smart foreign students won't feel so jealous. And, maybe, we should drop Literature as a subject too. I hate Literature, hard to score "A"s.

In fact, we should have streams like EM1 (Local) and EM1 (China andOthers). Let the smart China students have their own stream.

I want to go to university when I grow up, especially the National University of Singapore (NUS), because our newspapers say that NUS is evenbetter than Princeton and Cornell in the United States.

But I hear there are many brilliant China students in NUS, too.

I don't want to be having private tuition until I am 25 years old, just to keep up with my foreign classmates in the Uni. Or else, I will have no time to meet girls and then I will be forced to go to Vietnam or Kelantan to find a wife when I want to start a family.

In fact, I am very upset with foreigners competing with us even in this area.

All the girls I know say that when they finish studying and go to work, they want to marry ang mohs, because Singapore men are unromantic and do not want to know how to make a girl happy.

So, the ang mohs are even stealing ourwomen.

I prefer to marry a Singapore girl, of course, but only if she knows how tocook and wash, and peel my prawns for me (like you, Mummy). But nowadays, Singapore girls are so fierce, just because they study, and earn their own money.

Maybe that is why in Chinatown, I saw this big Singapore Rooster, and it was sitting on eggs. I think the Singapore Hen left him to look after the eggs, because she had to work and do all the things an educated Hen does. (Kumarin our D&D pointed out about the rooster on eggs @ Chinatown CNY05.....rooster lay eggs?? ..now U know why)

I also worry I cannot find a job when I am older. My friend, Ah Hock, tells me his mother feels all these Chinese foreigners are stealing our jobs and our men (and the ang mohs are stealing our women).

That is very scary, Mummy. You told me many China women are in Singapore only to do naughty things, like relieve old men of their Central Provident Fund money.

Once an uncle wrote in the papers that we should catch those foreign women who are tall, have long hair and legs, and wear tight, revealing outfits in black or red and behave coquettishly.

I think we should only accept foreign women who are short, have short hair and legs, and wear loose, covered-up outfits in white or blue, and behave like a man.

Okay, Mummy, I have to go to my Chinese, Maths and Science tuition classesnow.
If I don't go, I won't be able to beat Zhong Guoren.

Your son,
Khia Soo
